In biogas and CBG systems, combustible gases such as methane can create explosive mixtures when combined with air. If a flame travels back into the pipeline or storage vessel, it may result in fire, explosion, and severe structural damage.

Working Principle

• The flame arrestor incorporates a specially engineered metallic element (mesh or crimped ribbon) designed to absorb and disperse the heat generated by a flame.
• When a flame front enters the unit, its temperature is lowered below the ignition threshold, extinguishing it before it can transmit further.
• It operates bi-directionally to block flame propagation toward or away from connected equipment.
